Today we went to the Old Sorting Office on New Oxford Street where Mr. Brainwashs solo exhibiton life is beautiful was extended until September 7th. Fortunately, we were able to meet Thierry Guetta in person. The mysterious story about his art, the relationship to Banksy and the possibility of being fooled by Banksy make the atmosphere in the show even more fascinating.
If you have the chance to get there or see the exhibition anywhere else, I would highly recommend it (and watch Exit Through the Gift Shop before).
Sehr geil das du ihn getroffen hast, auch wenn ich der Meinung bin das Mr. Brainwash keine Kunst kreiert sondern lediglich kopiert. Der Film “Exit Through the Gift Shop” war allerdings klasse, halte aber wesentlich mehr von Banksy als von Brainwash.
Klar, die Kritik, dass er die Sachen alle nicht selber macht sondern nur in “Auftrag” gibt und seine Kunst halt aus Kollagen und Montagen besteht, muss er sich gefallen lassen. Nicht ohne Grund wird ja vermutet, dass Mr. Brainwash eine von Banksy erfundene Figur ist und die Kunstwerke eigentlich von Banksy stammen. Ist schon spannend und wenn es stimmen sollte, wäre es ein genialer Schachzug von Banksy.
Oh so weit war ich gar nicht informiert. Er hat halt kein kreatives Talent, sondern Talent geschickt zu kopieren, seine Kunst ist interessant aber ich würde dafür beispielsweise nie Geld ausgeben, weil seine Kunst für mich nix besonderes darstellt, was es zuvor noch nicht gab. Das Gegenteil ist Banksy.
